KATHMANDU: Thirty-three passengers were injured when a bus caught fire at Daunne, Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta East along the East-West highway.

The incident occurred at 5.30 am near the Bishwokarma Temple of the Daunne road section at Binayi Triveni rural municipality-2 after the bus met with an accident.

The bus (Na 5 Kha 5100) going towards the east from west veered off and rammed on the hill side to the north, Superintendent of Police Prajjwal Maharjan said. The bus caught fire upon hitting the hillside.

Maharjan said that among the injured passengers six are in serious condition.

Eight of the injured passengers are receiving treatment at the Purano Medical College in Bharatpur while the rest are under medical care at Madhyabindu District Hospital, Danda. (RSS)
