Home Minister Khand in Bharatpur to convince ‘rebel’ candidate



CHITWAN: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand arrived in Chitwan on Wednesday today to strike a deal with the ‘rebel’ candidates of the Nepali Congress (NC).

Home Minister Khand came to Chitwan after NC leader Jagannath Poudel announced his candidacy as a rebel candidate for the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Renu Dahal of the Maoist Center and Chitrasen Adhikari of the NC have already registered their nominations for the post of mayor and deputy mayor respectively.

Khand is holding discussions with coalition leaders at the district party office in Narayangarh.

Talking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport, Home Minister Khand said that he had come to assure and convince the disgruntled leaders and cadres of the party.
