Ruling coalition directs parties concerned to withdraw rebel candidacies



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the top leaders of the ruling coalition has directed the parties concerned to withdraw the nominations of rebel candidature given against the coalition’s decision in six metropolises and 11 sub-metropolises.

A meeting of the top leaders held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday also gave a seven-point directive to all the parties concerning the local-level election scheduled for May 13.

The meeting also decided to take necessary action on the issue.

The statement, signed by the five top leaders, states that the local and state mechanisms will take necessary action for the understanding in the municipalities, villages and their wards where there has been no agreement on seat-sharing among the parties.

For that, the local, district and state mechanisms have been instructed to take necessary consultation and assistance with the central mechanism.
