Young man dies after beating, locals block East-West Highway



SAPTARI: Locals have blocked the Kalyanpur-Kadarbona section of the East-West Highway at Saptari since 10 am on Wednesday demanding action against the culprit after a youth was killed by a group of people.

According to District Police Office, Saptari, some locals have blocked the road after Santlal Paswan, 27, of Khadak Municipality-4 Pansera died on Wednesday morning after being beaten by a group of people involved in a dispute over playing DJ at a wedding. The police have nabbed a man in connection with the incident.

The police are investigating further for details.

Hundreds of vehicles are stranded on the highway after the road was blocked. Saptari district administration has deployed more police at the incident site.
