Three Nepalis selected for Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championship



KATHMANDU: Three Nepali athletes have been selected to play the Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championship scheduled to take place in Amman, Jordan, on February 28-March 15.

The selected athletes are Indra Sunar, Tshering Wangdi Sherpa and Swastika Tiruwa. Head coach of the Nepali team is Dipak Maharjan.

Sunar will compete in 60-kg category, Sherpa in 54 kg and Tiruwa in 52 kg.

Meanwhile, Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj wished a success and bade farewell to the team amid a function here today itself. Others present on the occasion were the ministry’s secretary Dr. Damodar Regmi and President of the Nepal Boxing Association Ram Awale.
