NEPSE slides down by 7.73 points to close at 2,653.70 on Sunday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 7.73 points to close at 2,653.70 points on the first day of this trading week, Sunday.

Along with NEPSE index, the Sensitive Index, which measures the turnover of Class A companies, also declined by 0.73 points. The total turnover Sunday stood around Rs 3.32 billion.

As many as 7,040,563 shares of 224 companies changed hands through 49,670 transaction, resulting in the turnover of Rs 3.32 billion.

Despite the market downturn, the share prices of hydropower companies and some companies in other groups have risen significantly. Promoter shares of Everest Insurance Company became the number one gainer with share price rising by Rs 20.

Similarly, the share price of National Hydropower Company rose Rs 15.86 to close at Rs 366. In addition, share prices of companies, including Chilime Hydropower, Barun Hydropower, Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company Limited and Himalayan Power Partner Ltd have also risen noticeably.
