Maoist Center distributes copies of ‘interpretative declaration’ on MCC



KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has distributed copies of the “interpretative declaration” on the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement at the Maoist Center parliamentary party meeting that is underway at the parliament building in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.

There are 11 points in the “interpretative declaration” distributed to parliamentarians.

Maoist Center Chief Whip Dev Gurung has expressed apprehension in the supplementary report along with the “interpretive declaration”.

The parliamentary party meeting of the Maoist Center is underway. The coalition meeting Sunday morning agreed to ratify MCC from parliament with “interpretive declaration”, forwarded by Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Earlier, Maoist Center’s Central Office Secretariat meeting held on Sunday morning at party Chairman ‘Prachanda’s Khumaltar-based residence decided to ratify the MCC Compact with further clarification of the ambiguous clauses and conditions included in the compact.
