JSP decides to vote for MCC



KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has formally decided to vote for the motion to ratify the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact from the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.

A meeting attended by JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and senior leader Ashok Rai on Sunday morning decided to side with the MCC.

Earlier, the JSP executive committee meeting could not decide on the issue of MCC and handed it over to the top leaders.

A meeting of the three top leaders on Sunday decided to approve the MCC with an explanatory notes, a leader said.

Now all 19 lawmakers representing JSP will vote for MCC.

Earlier, JSP Chairman Yadav was said to be against MCC while Federal Council Chairman Dr. Bhattarai has been advocating for MCC from the very beginning.
