Govt to provide free PCR test for workers going for foreign employment

KATHMANDU: The government will provide free RT-PCR tests for coronavirus to all Nepali nationals going for foreign employment.

The Ministry of Health and Population has made a ministerial decision to provide free RT-PCR testing.

The RT-PCR test will be free of cost for all workers going for foreign employment from government-run Shukraraj Tropical Hospital Teku, Bir Hospital and Central Public Health Laboratory.

Earlier, PCR tests at government hospitals and laboratories cost Rs 800. For the PCR, the eligible ones have to submit the documents that validate that they are going abroad for foreign employment.

The government had earlier made a special arrangement for COVID-19 vaccine to youths going for foreign employment.
