Police arrest four persons for selling duplicate face masks

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan Police has arrested four people on the charge of selling duplicate face masks.

The arrested have been identified as Buddhi Bahadur Karki, 34, of Tikathali in Lalitpur, who also ran Mahalaxmi Ishan Enterprises in Tripureshwor; Yash Agrawal, 20, of Rajasthan, India currently residing in Bhotebahal, Kathmandu; Shriyans Lawati, 20, of Bhotebahal and Mukti Prasad Pokharel, 23, of Sankhuwasabha, residing at Satdobado at present.

Police recovered 21 cartons (3,024 pieces of face masks) from Mahalaksmi Ishan Enterprises and 65 bags and eight cartoons (1,920 pieces) from another supplier.

Police handed them over to Babar Mahal-based Department of Commerce, Supplies & Consumer Protection for necessary investigation and probe.
