Two killed in Ilam jeep accident



ILAM: Two people died in a jeep accident in Ilam on Thursday morning.

The jeep — 1-01-001 Cha 7916 — coming from Jhapa to Ilam fell some 500 meters from the road.

Ganga Bahadur Thapa, Information Officer at the District Police Office informed that the jeep accident took place at Rong Rural Municipality-4 on the Mechi Highway.

According to him, Ramesh Thapa, 55, of Mechinagar Municipality-4 and Surya Bahadur Thapa, 40, of the same place died on the spot.

Jeep driver Arjun Koirala, 33, of Mechinagar-4 was seriously injured.

He has been taken to B&C Hospital in Birtamod for treatment.

Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
