Weather expected to improve gradually from Friday

KATHMANDU: The weather, affected due to the impact of the westerly low-pressure system for the past few days, is likely to improve gradually from Friday.

Senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Barun Poudel, said that there is a possibility of gradual improvement of weather as the weather system is expected to weaken from Friday.

“The sky across the country will remain partial to general cloudy till Thursday,” Poudel said.

Meanwhile, the Department has predicted light rainfall at some places of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces and one or two places of remaining provinces.

It also cautioned people to adopt necessary safety and precaution to be protected from cold as there is a possibility of light snowfall at some places of high-hilly and Himalayan region of the country.

Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces have been witnessing generally cloudy while the sky at the remaining provinces is partly cloudy.

Rainfall has been taking place at one or two places of Sudurpaschim province.

The weather at hilly areas of province 1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces would remain generally cloudy and the sky of the remaining provinces would witness partly cloudy on Thursday.

Light rainfall has been forecast at some places of hilly areas and light snowfall at some places of high-hilly and Himalayan region of the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
