Deuba and Prachanda agree on continuing five-party alliance

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have “agreed” to give continuity to the five-party alliance after the announcement of the final election results.

Prachanda and PM Deuba, who are “dissatisfied” with the election result, and the emergence of a new political party, have agreed to intensify dialogue and discussion on the formation of a new government comprising the current five political parties, sources said.

Maoist Chairman Prachanda reached Baluwatar, PM Deuba’s official residence on Saturday morning and discussed their “future strategy and roadmap”.

The two leaders also discussed the election results and the formation of the next government for over an hour.
