KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he has returned to Shivanagar in Chitwan after 40 years.

Prachanda moved into his newly-built house at Shivanagar, in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-14, on Monday.

Shortly after moving in his new home, he attended a cultural program organized by the local Saraswati Youth Club.

Speaking at the program, he said that he returned to Shivanagar after 40 years.

He said that he migrated from Shivanagar to Bharatpur, from there to Kathmandu, then reached Rolpa-Rukum until the peace process began; and returned back again as the country was set to second general election following the promulgation of the constitution.

“I have returned amidst you after 40 years. I received some land that was in my father’s name after he passed away. I built a small house on the land. Today, I moved into that house. I express commitment to be there with you in your happiness and sorrows,” he said.

Stating that development projects such as construction of embankment along the Narayani River and bridge over the river, embankment on Rapti River were currently being implemented in the area, he hoped more big projects would come to the area in the future.

“My dream is to come up with billions of plans,” he said, adding that he wanted to spent his remaining life for peace, development and prosperity.
