Biratnagar Jute Mill to be re-operated: Minister Badu



BIRATNAGAR: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu assured that the Biratnagar Jute Mill at Rani in Morang will be re-operated.

Talking to the media persons at Biratnagar Airport in Morang on Tuesday, Minister Badu shared that modality to re-operate the Mill would be prepared in consultation with private sector entrepreneurs.

Badu further said that a decision on how to operate the sick industries such as Janakpur Cigarette Factory and Hetauda Textile Industry among others would be made after monitoring those industries.

He was of the view that in order to reduce trade deficit, import would be substituted by increasing domestic production in support of the private sector. The Minister opined the private sector would help address the complaints regarding increase in the tax in budget.

Minister Badu pledged to proceed after holding discussions on what sort of facilities and schemes should be given to entrepreneurs for running private sector’s enterprises in full capacity.
