Nomination of Maoist Center office bearers to be finalized after parliamentary elections

KATHMANDU: The ruling Maoist Center is appointing its office bearers only after the parliamentary elections, party sources have said.

The process of nominating the names for the office bearers has been postponed as party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” is busy in discussion on the issue of forming a Samajwadi Center (Socialist Center) among the leftist parties.

Since the party needs to carry out homework on the issue, the possibility of nominating the office bearers looks slim, the party source said.

The party has already formed the politburo committee. Similarly, the party’s Standing Committee, comprising 15 members, is functional.

According to the party statute, the party will have two deputy general secretaries, three secretaries, and one treasurer.

The party has already appointed Narayankaji Shrestha as Senior Vice Chairman.
