HoR meeting adjourned owing to insufficient quorum

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting has been postponed due to lack of quorum on Sunday.

In the meeting held on Sunday, lawmaker Jhapat Bahadur Rawal demanded to determine the quorum while presenting the Policy Research Foundation Bill 2076.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota adjourned the meeting for half an hour after it was confirmed that the number present in the parliament meeting did not meet the mandatory number.

As the required 69 members of the parliament are not present in the House today, the parliament has been postponed, the speaker announced.

Although at least 69 lawmakers have to be present in the HoR to meet the required quorum for discussion on any proposal, only 63 were present on Sunday.
