KATHMANDU: The number of cholera patients in Kathmandu valley has reached 10.

According to the District Public Health Office, Kathmandu, one more cholera patient has been found in Naikap and Patan.

According to office sources, the report of RDT test on the patients found in Patan is positive.

However, the culture report is yet to come. As for the patients of Naikap, the culture report is also positive.

According to the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control, cholera has already been confirmed in people of Bagbazar, Dilli Bazaar, Kapan, Sanepa, Balaju, Balkhu and Thankot.

Public health experts say the lack of a source of infection or the appearance of cholera patients in many places is a sign that cholera could spread like an epidemic.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has started, from Sunday, monitoring the quality of water distributed by jar, bottle and tanker traders.
