Deliberation on government’s policies, programs begins in HoR

KATHMANDU: Deliberation on government’s policies and programs for coming fiscal year 2022/23 has begun in the House of Representatives Thursday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had presented the government’s policy and program on May 24.

During his address to the joint meeting of both houses of the federal parliament on May 24, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had presented a proposal to start deliberation on the government’s policies and programs.

Putting forth his view in the beginning of today’s meeting, CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party leader, KP Sharma Oli, commented that the government’s policies and programs were ‘tasteless’.

Former Prime Minister Oli criticized the government’s policy and program, saying it has expressed mistrust towards the state mechanism. He also accused the government of failing to conduct local-level election in a peaceful and fearless environment.

Saying discussion was not held with the opposition party on the issue of national importance, the CPN (UML) Chair drew the government’s attention towards it.

Chair Oli also blamed the government of confining the foreign policy as a means of power interest (of ruling parties) and vindictive.
