34,890 people’s representatives elected across country



KATHMANDU: So far 34,890 people’s representatives have been elected through the May 13 local level elections across the country.

According to the Election Commission, the results of 749 out of 753 local levels have been made public till Thursday morning. Only the results of four local bodies are yet to come out.

So far, 34,890 people’s representatives have been elected from across the country, said the Commission. Elections were held for 35,221 people’s representatives from all over the country on May 13.

According to the Commission, 288 mayors including 13 women and 460 rural municipality chairpersons including 12 women have been elected. Similarly, 288 deputy mayors and 460 vice chairpersons have been elected.

So far, 6,704 ward chairpersons, including 69 women, have been elected. Similarly, 6,701 women members have been elected, according to the Commission.

According to the Commission, 6,582 Dalit women members have been elected.
