Ambassador Adhikari presents Letters of Credence to President of Iran



KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Tapas Adhikari presented his Letters of Credence to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ibrahim Raisi, accrediting him as non-resident ambassador of Nepal to Iran, amidst a special ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Tehran, on Tuesday.

During the presentation, Ambassador Adhikari conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as well as from the people of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of the President of Iran and continued progress and prosperity of friendly people of Iran, the Embassy of Nepal in Pakistan said in a press statement.

On the occasion, the President of Iran welcomed and congratulated Adhikari as the non-resident ambassador of Nepal to Iran. The President asked the ambassador to convey his greetings and best wishes to President Bhandari and Prime Minister Deuba and friendly people of Nepal for their continued progress and prosperity.

Adhikari expressed that the bilateral relationship between Nepal and Iran have always been friendly based on mutual trust and cooperation. He said that Nepal and Iran are working together in Non-Aligned Movement, Group of 77, United Nations and other important international forums on various issues of common concerns.

He further said that he would make sincere efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and Iran.

Senior government officials of the Presidential Palace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, were also present during the ceremony. The Embassy of Nepal in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamabad, is concurrently accredited to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
