KATHMANDU: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi who arrived on a three-day visit to Nepal is scheduled to hold a meeting with his Nepali counterpart Dr Narayan Khadka today.

The 20-member delegation led by Wang and 16-memer delegation led by Foreign Minister will hold a separate meeting at 3:30 to 4 pm pm during which 12 different agreements will be signed, sources have said.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang will pay a visit to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today itself at 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm.

Similarly, he will take part at the inauguration ceremony of Pokhara Regional International Airport to be held by Prime Minister Deuba virtually from Kathmandu from 6:15 to 6:30 pm. He, then, will attend the dinner reception to be hosted by Foreign Minister Khadka.

Wang will pay a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday.

He will also hold meetings with top-notch leaders of political parties including CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal among others. However, the schedule regarding the meetings with these leaders have not yet been made public.

Foreign Minister Wang arrived in Kathmandu on Friday, leading a 20-member delegation at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Dr. Khadka.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khadka, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi, Chief of Protocol Durga Bahadur Subedi among other high-ranking officials had received Wang at the Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday.
