There is no middle ground on MCC: Unified Socialist leader Khanal



KATHMANDU: Leader of the ruling CPN-Unified Socialist Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the United States grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will not pass from the parliament in the current situation.

Stating that there is no middle ground on MCC, he said that from among in favor and in opposition, they chose to be in the opposition.

Talking to media persons after a discussion with the top leaders of the Maoist Center on Saturday, he said, “We do not know what the middle way is. Nevertheless, there are two ways. Either Yes or No. We say No in the status quo. We are in favor of the amendment in the interest of the nation.”

Stating that he came to know about efforts of search for a middle ground on MCC through the media, he wondered who was in search of a middle ground.

Leader Khanal said depending on how the MCC issue would unfold, it decide the fate of the coalition.
