Martyrs’ contribution should not be forgotten: Senior leader Poudel

Reiterates MCC is in the best interest of Nepal

TANAHU: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ramchandra Poudel stressed that they should not forget contributions of martyrs.

Unveiling the bust-size statue of martyr Bikram Pariyar at Byas Municipality-1, Bhadhgaun in Tanahu district today, leader Poudel said that all those who made significant contributions to democratic movement in the country should be honored.

Stressing on the need to immortalize the contributions of Pariyar, Poudel said that NC would always honor the martyrs and their contribution.

The statue of Pariyar was made by Bir Uparkoti of Byas Municipality-12. Pariyar, a singer by profession, was murdered by a mob of youths following the local level election on May 14, 2017.

Leader Poudel, on a different note, blamed that although all communist leaders in Nepal were in favor of the US-aid grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), they were against the MCC at the behest of China.

According to him, the MCC was in the best interest of Nepal and America intended to help Nepal prosper by producing electricity and sell electricity.
