Some judges at the apex court are openly trying to ‘eliminate’ UML: KP Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli has remarked that some judges in the Supreme Court are openly trying to ‘eliminate’ UML.

Addressing the inaugural function of the second national conference of the UML-affiliated Progressive  and Professional Lawyers Association (PPLA) in Kathmandu on Saturday, the UML Chair said that an email sent to the full bench by Justice Ishwor Khatiwada from the US had revealed that the verdict was designed to defeat UML.

“In the bench of five justices if two justices refuse to join the bench just because the verdict can not be designed as per the plan, how can the justice be ensured?” he asked, adding, “Evidences and the circumstances clearly indicate that the verdict against UML was drafted at home and just read out in the court.”

UML Chair Oli who had tried to dissolve the House of Representatives after losing majority in the parliament was disappointed at the Supreme Court’s continuous restoration of the parliament.

He claimed that the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana would not be taken ahead.
