Irate locals enforce shutdown of Chhinchu bazaar



SURKHET: Irate locals have shutdown Surkhet’s Chhinchu bazaar and road since this morning. The local resorted to the action after ward chairperson of Bheriganga rural municipality-1 of Surkhet district, Nabaraj Karki died in course of treatment.

Karki, who was injured in motorcycle accident, died on Friday night while being treated at Kathmandu-based Neuro Hospital.

The locals have enforced shutdown the Chhinchu bazaar and disrupted vehicular movement, demanding action against the guilty, appropriate compensation to the victim family and bear all the expenses involved in the treatment.

Passengers have been facing trouble following the road obstruction. Karki, 30, was elected as the ward chairperson from the CPN (Maoist Centre).

Karki was critically injured when a speedy van (Karnali State 02001 Kha 0546) heading towards Surkhet from Nepalgunj hit the motorcycle (Bhe 6 Pa 4401) coming from Chhinchu from Surkhet near Chhinchu bazaar on February 20.
