JSP holding ‘decisive meeting’ on MCC today



KATHMANDU: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is holding a crucial meeting on the US grant assistance Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact today.

A central executive committee (CEC) meeting of the JSP, which is underway since Friday, will take an official decision on the MCC, a JSP leader has said.

The main agenda of the meeting today is the MCC.

Copies of the MCC compact had been distributed among the CEC members for a through perusal in the meeting held in Lalitpur yesterday.

Federal Council Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai camp is in favor of ratifying the MCC while Chairman Upendra Yadav group is seen mum on the MCC.

The JSP held a meeting only on Friday after three months due to internal disputes. There are 19 lawmakers in the JSP.
