CBS includes Lipu Lekh, Limpiyadhura population in census 2021

KATHMANDU: Nepal has included the population of Lipu Lekh and Limpiyadhura in the first census carried out in the country after publishing the revised map including those parts as Nepali territory.

The new political map of the country issued by the government of Nepal, on Monday, May 18, 2020, and launched on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

This is the census taken in Lipu Lekh and Limpiyadhura area since 1961.

According to Nevin Lal Shrestha, the average population of the area was calculated on the basis of the number of households as the enumerators and supervisors could not reach there directly.

However, Shrestha did not reveal the actual number of the population of the area.

He informed that the details would be made public soon.

Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published the preliminary population of Nepal based on the census carried out in 2021 recently.

CBS disclosed that the population of Nepal has reached 29,192,480 now.
