KATHMANDU: The Nepal government has formed a task-force to study the necessity and the number of secretaries.

A cabinet meeting held on Monday formed a four-member task-force led by Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers Laxman Aryal.

Secretary at the Commission of Water Resources and Energy Dinesh Ghimire, Suresh Adhikari, the secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and Finance Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini are the members in the task-force.

The task-force will review the existing number of secretaries (first class), secretaries at the provinces, their necessities and the number.

The task-force has been given a 30-day deadline to submit its report.
