President appoints Prachanda as PM

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ as the Prime Minister. Prachanda was appointed the PM as per Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, the President stated issuing a note a while ago. This is the third time Chairman Dahal has become the Prime Minister.

Ministry of Health alerts against new variant of coronavirus

The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to the general public to be aware of the new variant BF-7 of the coronavirus. The ministry issued a press release today asserting that although the new variant of Covid-19 has not been confirmed in Nepal so far, due to its growing influence in neighboring countries, there is a need to be alert in Nepal as well.

Singha Durbar to have high-capacity charging stations

High-capacity charging stations for electric vehicles are to be built at the country’s main administrative hub, Singha Durbar. The country’s major administrative center has charging stations, but not of the high-capacity.

China congratulates Prachanda for being appointed as Prime Minister

The People’s Republic of China has been the first country to congratulate CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the latter’s appointment as a Prime Minister of Nepal. In Sunday evening’s Twitter message, the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu congratulated Prachanda on becoming the 44th Prime Minister of Nepal.

Health Ministry urges people to get booster shots against COVID-19

In view of the increasing COVID-19 cases in neighboring India and China, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged all Nepali people to receive a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines. The new variant, BF.7 has been detected in India and China, and its transmission to Nepal may take place due to open border with the countries, said the Ministry’s spokesperson Dr Sanjaya Kumar Thakur. So, precaution should be adopted, he added.
