Janamat Party decides to join Prachanda-led govt



KATHMANDU: Dr. CK Raut-led Janamat Party has decided to join CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government.

The virtual meeting of the party’s executive committee held in Kathmandu decided to participate in the government.

According to Harendra Chaudhary, the valley in-charge of the Janamat Party, Chairman Raut held a virtual meeting in Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, and the meeting decided to participate in the government.

Chaudhary shared that although the party decided to join the government, no decision has been made on the Ministry the party would like to claim in the coalition government.

There are six MPs in Janamat Party.

Leading the six-party alliance, Maoist Chairman Prachanda has been appointed as the Prime Minister on Sunday.

The Prime Minister will be sworn in at 4 pm on Monday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Prachanda as the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76, Clause 2 of the Constitution.
