NC’s Thapa wins from Syangja-1

The Nepali Congress candidate for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR), Raju Thapa, has been elected from constituency no 1 of Syangja district.

He defeated UML’s Narayan Prasad Marasini with the margin of 2,455 votes.
Thapa secured 31,999 votes while his nearest rival Marasini got 28,744.

RSP is committed to people’s welfare: Rabi Lamichhane

CHITWAN: Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has said his party was dedicated in favor of the people.

At a program organized by the Office of the Chief Returning Officer to distribute election certificates in Chitwan on Friday, he opined that they would come together for the welfare of the country and citizens, and for people’s livelihood.

PR vote count: UML leading followed by NC and RSP

KATHMANDU: Counting of votes cast under the Proportional Representation (PR) system in the election to the member of the House of Representatives is underway.

According to the count updates made available by the Election Commission till this afternoon, the CPN-UML is leading the tally and it has received 119,9573 votes so far.

The Nepali Congress (NC) is in the second position with 113,8822 votes followed by Rastriya Swatantra Party with 558,614.

Mahantha Thakur clinches HoR seat from Mahottari-3

MAHOTTARI: Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Chairman and House of Representatives member candidate from Mahottari-3 Mahantha Thakur has clinched victory in the elections held on Sunday.

He received 16,375 votes. This is Thakur’s fifth tenure in the parliament.

Democracy is yet to be stable: Chitra Bahadur KC

Chairman of the Rastriya Janamorcha and newly elected people’s representative from Baglung, Chitra Bahadur KC, has said democracy is yet to be stable in the country.

People’s indifference to political parties was growing as they lost much in the November 20 elections, thereby being unable to secure clear majority.

The Saptari electoral constituency 2 elected a new face to the House of Representatives this time too following the previous trend.

Since the 1990’s political revolution in the country, voters of Saptari -2 continue to elect a new face in each general election.

Nepali Congress leader and candidate for the House of Representatives member from Moran 3, Sunil Kumar Sharma has clinched victory in the election held on Sunday.

He defeated Bhanubhakta Dhakal of CPN-UML and Rekha Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
