NC’s Gautam elected HoR member from Bardiya



BARDIYA: Nepali Congress’ Sanjaya Kumar Gautam, the common candidate of the ruling alliance, has won the election to the House of Representatives from Bardiya constituency no 1.

He garnered 30,611 votes as against the 26,155 bagged by his closest competitor Laxman Raj Gyawali of the CPN (UML).

Gautam surpassed Gyawali by 4,456 votes. There were 162 thousand 662 registered voters in this electoral constituency and out of them, 104 thousand 402 cast votes in the elections held on November 20.

Six thousand four hundred and one votes were invalid, the Chief Election Officer’s Office said.
