NEPSE loses 18.29 points to close at 2,039.55 on Thursday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost 18.29 points to settle the market at 2,039.55 points on Thursday (today). This is a loss of 0.89 percent in the index.

The index had gained 2.87 points on Wednesday.

The index that opened at 2,058.01 points made an intraday high of 2,068.55 followed by an intraday low of 2,035.69  before ultimately settling at 2,039.54 points today.

A total of 4,234,137 shares of 219 companies traded via 32,946 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 1.71 billion in the secondary market. Wednesday’s turnover in the stock market was of Rs 1.52 billion.

Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited shares traded the most and had the highest turnover in the market today.

Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited gained the highest 9.99 percent and technically hit positive circuit for the day.

Meanwhile, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company Limited was the biggest loser for the day, losing the highest 5.82 percent.

All sector indices closed red, “Others” lost the highest 2.2 percent while “Non Life Insurance” lost the least 0.27 percent.
