Mother braves leopard to save her son



BANDIPUR: A leopard had attacked and injured three-year-old Sulabh Pariyar at Bandipur Rural Municipality-1, Baniyatar in Tanahun last evening.

But his mother Laxmi Pariyar braved the jungle cat to snatch away her son from its clutch.

Earlier at around 5.00 pm too, the leopard had wounded a castrated goat of Hem Bahadur Rana, a local of the same place.

The leopard then entered into the nearby human settlement and attacked the minor at around 6.00 pm while he was playing at threshold, confirmed Division Forest Office Chief Komal Raj Kafle.

Laxmi also chased the leopard when it took away her small son.

Local eye witness Basu Pantha said Laxmi was able to snatch away her son from the clutch of the beast.

The injured child received primary aid at Moti Health Clinic in Banidpur-4, Dumre. He was sent to Chitwan Medical College Bharatpur for further treatment, former chairperson of Bandipur rural municipality Purna Singh Thapa.

Minor Pariyar has injuries on his neck and other body parts.
