KATHMANDU: Top leaders of the five-party ruling coalition are meeting today as well to discuss the allocation of electoral seats among the parties for the November 20 elections.
The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar.
A meeting of the five-party coalition to be held on Wednesday was postponed citing leaders’ busy schedules.
Likewise, a meeting of the top leaders held on Tuesday, too, remained inconclusive as the ruling partners remained adamant about their respective stances.
The leaders are meeting on Thursday as well as the seat allocation task force for the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections could not finalize the distribution of seats.
Minister of Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also a member of the task force, informed that there is a possibility of reaching a conclusion regarding seat distribution in the meeting.
The task force formed under the chairmanship of Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula for allocating seats has discussed the criteria but was not able to prepare a concrete proposal.
The ruling coalition partners are in talks with each other ever since the announcement of the date of the Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly slated for November 20.
