Palpa bus accident: Six deceased identified



KATHMANDU: All six persons who died in the bus accident in Palpa on Sunday have been identified.

They were killed on the spot when the bus (Lu 1 Kha 5952) met an accident at Laghuwa of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-2 in Palpa. The bus was en route to Butwal from Burtibang of Baglung district at the time of the accident.

Sixteen persons sustained injuries in the accident. Twenty-two people were travelling by the bus. The accident occurred at around 5 pm on Sunday. The bus fell some 60 metres from the road, it is said.

The District Police Office, Palpa, identified the victims as 15-year-old Prabesh Kafle of Majhuwa, ward number 8 and 40-year-old Lal Bahadur Rana Kumal of ward number 7 of Chandrakot Rural Municipality, Gulmi district; 87-year-old Dilsari Kami of Devdaha Municipality-7, Rupandehi district; 45-year-old Yagya Bahadur Somai alias Suraj of Banganga municipality-2, Kapilbastu district; 24-year-old Purnima Kami of Bardaghat municipality-5 Nawalparasi and 55-year-old Yamkali Thapa of Badigaad rural municipality-10, Baglung district.

The injured passengers are receiving medical treatment at the United Mission Hospital.
