4.7 magnitude earthquake hits Sindhupalchowk, tremor felt in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: A 4.7 magnitude earthquake has hit Nepal’s Sindhupalchowk and surrounding areas on Monday morning, according to the National Seismological Center.

The quake took place at 6.07 am with its epicenter at Helambu in Sindhupalchowk district.

Shockwaves from the quake were felt in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts, said the local people.

However, no details of losses caused by the quake have been reported.
