Week-long program on Madan Bhandari’s birth anniversary



KATHMANDU: The Madan Bhandari Foundation is organizing a variety of programs on the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary of popular leader late Madan Bhandari.

On the occasion of the birthday of the then General Secretary of the CPN (UML) Bhandari on coming June 28, the Foundation has decided to hold a program from today to July 30, said Secretary of the Foundation Pemba Lama. The Foundation has been promoting Bhandari’s idea of ‘people’s multi-party democracy’ and many aspects of his personality.

A series of discussions and blood donation programs were organized at Madan Bhandari College on Friday as part of the week-long program.

Similarly, academic interaction, interaction with media persons, dialogue on road safety in Nepal, the main function in the presence of UML Chair KP  Oli and distribution of Madan Bhandari National Award among others have been scheduled to be held.

Bhandari and the then head of the organization department Jibraj Ashrit died in a jeep accident at Dasdhunga on Jetha 3, 2050 BS while on their way to a program from Pokhara to Chitwan.
