Independent KMC mayoral candidate Balen now close to victory

Balen: 56,148, Sirjana: 35,478, Sthapit: 34,854



KATHMANDU: Independent mayoral candidate Balendra Shah is certain to become the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).

With less than 18,000 votes remaining to be counted, Balen is ahead of Sirjana Singh by more than 21,000 votes. He has received 56,148 votes.

Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Sirjana Singh is in second place with 35,478 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Keshav Sthapit is trailing behind with 34,854 votes.
