Macron reelected as French President



PARIS: Emmanuel Macron has been re-elected as French president after a convincing victory over his closest rival Marine Le Pen.

Macron won the presidential elections with 58.55% of votes cast while his closest rival Le Pen obtained 41.45%, a greater margin than expected.

The centrist leader, following his election, told jubilant supporters at the foot of the Eiffel Tower that he would be a “president for all”.
