POKHARA: Chief of Gandaki Province Prithiviman Gurung said that the Public Service Commission (PSC) should further strengthen its transparency and impartiality.
Inaugurating the first anniversary of the Gandaki Province Public Service Commission in Pokhara Friday, he expressed his hope that the provincial Commission would be successful in further elevating its height. He opined that people believed that the Commission impartially selects capable candidates on merit basis.
Similarly, Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Krishna Chandra Nepali asserted that the Commission would play an important role in implementing federalism. He was confident that the Commission would help produce competent and capable civil employees for good-governance.
Likewise, Speaker of the Gandaki Province Netranath Adhikari lauded the works of the Commissions carried out in a year.
Major opposition party leader Prithivi Subba Gurung said that the first year of the Commission was fruitful and expressed his hope that it would produce capable, competent and skillful human resources for the province.
Former chairperson of the Public Service Commission Umesh Prasad Mainali said that problems have surfaced in absence of the Federal Civil Service Act. He underscored the need to make the role of Commission further effective.
Gandaki Province Public Service Commission Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Nepal reaffirmed the commitment of the Commission for impartiality and transparency.
On the occasion, section officer Sandip Dhunaga was honored as the best employee of the Commission. A souvenir was also unveiled.
