High Court refuses to issue interim order on NRNA conference related case

KATHMANDU: Refusing to issue interim order on a petition related to Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the Patan High Court has paved the way for the polls.

Earlier Chintamani Sapkota and others had filed a petition at Patan High Court on March 16 demanding to stop the world conference scheduled for March 24 and 25 .

Hearing on the petition, the Patan High Court had issued a short-term interim order on March 21 and had summoned both the parties for discussion on March 23. However, when the case was assigned to the benches through lottery system, the case turned out to be in the bench which could not hear due to the conflict of interest on both March 23 and 24.

A joint bench of Justices Subhash Poudel and Neelam Poudel on Friday concluded that no interim order has to be issued on the writ petition.

The NRNA is holding a world conference and election on March 26 and 27 to select a new leadership for the next two years.
