KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist (CPN-US) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli covertly visits former King Gyanendra Shah. He alleged that Oli would reach out to the ex-king to seek support in the upcoming election.

Addressing a party program organized in Chabahil Friday, Chair Nepal said, “Oli has been secretly reaching Gyanendra’s residence seeking to partner with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). They are trying to coordinate with the party that promotes foreigner’s agenda. Because he is a right-winger.” He added that right-wing parties had a tendency to coordinate among themselves.

About his party, he said that they were leftist and democratic force. He added democratic forces and the leftist forces would form an alliance in the upcoming polls.

However, he elucidated to party cadres the need of strengthening the organization and maintaining their status prior to electoral coordination.

He said, “Firstly, one needs to move forward on one’s own strength by building the organization and maintaining status. No one believes in those who lack their own status.”

Stating that his party would form an alliance with the Nepali Congress (NC) in the upcoming elections, he expressed happiness over the fact that NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arju Rana Deuba also viewed the alliance as necessary.

Chair Nepal said that they are now awaiting a formal decision of the NC Central Committee with respect to the electoral alliance.
