“MCC should be the project of financial assistance”

KAILALI: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said that the US government’s grant assistance-Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact should be forwarded keeping in mind the interest of the nation and the Nepali people.

Chairman Nepal said that issues being raised regarding MCC—land ownership of the project and the right of employment of the Nepalis in the project should be guaranteed.

“The right of Nepal on monetary property and heritages to be received from the project should be protected”, he said, adding the project should be pure financial assistance.

Chair Nepal clarified that his party could not pass the MCC compact in the status quo.
