CM Shahi for issuance of federal education act

KARNALI: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has viewed the federal education act should be issued soon.

Attending the virtual interaction organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on quality enhancement of public education, assistance to professional development of teachers and coordination among three layers of government, CM Shahi also stressed the need for making the technical education more effective and well managed.

He argued that the federal education act could help to solve the problems facing the education sector. CM Shahi also suggested the Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel that local government should be given full authority to manage secondary education. Additional budget is required to the residential schools in the upper hilly region, according to him.

On the occasion, Education Minister Poudel responded that CM Shahi’s recommendation was very positive and substantial. He also assured that efforts would be launched for the formulation of federal education act.

CM Shahi suggested the Education Minister how a standard school like Budhanilakantha School could be set up in each province and quality education enhanced. (RSS)
