EC all set to hold NA polls; voting from 9 am Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has informed that all the preparations have been completed for the National Assembly elections scheduled for Wednesday.

The voting will begin at 9 am and come to an end at 3 pm for the 19 vacant posts of the NA lawmakers tomorrow.

The EC has fixed eight polling stations and 14 polling centers.

As many as 10 officials including an election officer have been deployed to each polling center, informed deputy spokesperson of the Commission Komal Prasad Dhamala.

The Commission has already delivered ballot papers to the office of the Election Officer of all the provinces.

There are 2,025 voters in seven provinces. There 532 provincial lawmakers and 1,493 chiefs and deputy chiefs of local units will cast votes to elect 19 NA lawmakers in the elections.

The elections of Province 1 will be held at Biratnagar, the elections of Madhesh Pradesh will be held at Janakpur and that of Bagmati will be held at Hetauda.
