NCP was split by Prachanda-Madhav Nepal group, not the court: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has claimed that the then Nepal Communist Party (NCP) was split by the then NCP leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal and was not dissolved by the Supreme Court.

The UML Chair said that the Court only canceled the registration on the grounds that the name coincided with another party already registered.

Speaking at an event organized by the Kathmandu-Pyuthan Sampark Manch in Kathmandu on Saturday, Oli claimed that the people who wanted division had split the party.

“The court has not split the party, it has only changed the name of the party. It means coming up with another name,” he said, adding, “There was conspiracy to split the party and it was executed by Prachanda, Madhav Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal.”

Oli claimed that he tried many times to save the party under another name but failed.
