Maoist Center’s Sharma wins HoR member from Dang-2

DANG: Rekha Sharma of CPN (Maoist Centre), a common candidate of the alliance, has been elected to the House of Representatives from Dang Constituency-2.

She received 26,877 votes. Sharma’s closest rival Shankar Pokhrel of the CPN (UML) got 26,681 votes, said chief returning officer, Kripasur Karki. Out of 133,748 voters in the constituency, 79,446 votes were cast.

Sharma is central committee member of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former minister while Pokhrel is general-secretary of the CPN (UML) and former chief minister of Lumbini Province.
