KATHMANDU: The second day of Tihar festival is dedicated to the worship of dogs but this year, Laxmi Puja is also being held on the same day.
According to the lunar calendar, the celebration of Laxmi Puja or the worship of the goddess of wealth will also take place this evening instead of tomorrow.
In the evening, Goddess Laxmi — the goddess of wealth will be worshipped with huge celebration among the Hindu devotees.
People clean their houses on this day to welcome the goddess. It is believed that the goddess will be pleased if people maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene. People also light candles and oil lamps to welcome the goddess.
